I don't come into that category sadly, but it has enough about it that I don't mind reading one from to time. Just reading about it makes me feel that way. Not just here, but other places. I just don't think I care enough to begin. Great reviews, as always.Nanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15547916206007733970noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3958492963483272678.post-83259051638241974792017-07-27T23:34:37.823+01:002017-07-27T23:34:37.823+01:00Yvonne: Yes, the series has been going for sometim...Yvonne: Yes, the series has been going for sometime, but shown I think on one of the more obscure channels, which is why I've missed it I think. If it's BBC1 or 2 I can keep track, otherwise I really can't.

I know, there are so many books and one can't possibly read them all. It's quite depressing.

I did read somewhere that 60 is the new 40 so I comfort myself with this. LOL

Tracy: The Auntie Poldi was fun and a quick read... if it was very long I might not have decided to finish it to be honest.

I did wonder if the 'elderly' thing was down to the translation, I must admit. Yes exactly 'but still'...

Cathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06371069000185280668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3958492963483272678.post-64356018169185237542017-07-23T21:45:07.422+01:002017-07-23T21:45:07.422+01:00I might be interested in Auntie Poldi and the Sici...I might be interested in Auntie Poldi and the Sicilian Lions; if I run into I will give it a try. I have read only one of the Montalbano but I have more of them so I should get back to them.

I am so with you on the use of "elderly" in this context. I haven't come across the 'Monta...Hi Cath,

I haven't come across the 'Montalbano' series on television either, but apparently it has aired previously on BBC Four and there are four more episodes due to be shown this year. Like yourself, I shall be keeping a look out for that one!

In fact I have never read any of the Camilleri books either, although I have seen plenty on the shelves. I can't recall ever checking one out even and to be honest had no idea they formed part of a detective series. One day I may get around to dipping my toe in the Sicilian waters, but there are just so many books....

Like yourself and Peggy, I am due to hit 60 next year and have just begun to realise that young people do actually class this as officially 'old'. It's a scary thought when my head is still screaming middle age, and although I do think the gap is closing a little over time, I still find myself sometimes wondering what young people are actually talking about when they are in text speak mode!!

Thanks for sharing your little corner of Italy and 'Happy Reading' with whatever comes next :)

YvonneYvonne @ Fiction Books Reviewshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14821114534056290177noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3958492963483272678.post-69749101276823103402017-07-17T23:01:55.574+01:002017-07-17T23:01:55.574+01:00Pat: I think mysteries, crime, murders are my main...Pat: I think mysteries, crime, murders are my main reading material these days. I don't know what happened to fantasy and horror. LOL Also, like you, reading more non-fiction these days. You take care. *Hugs*

Peggy: Hopefully Aunt Poldi is as cheap in the USA as it is here. I've yet to see the Montalbano TV series, must keep an eye out for that. Sixty? Just a sping chicken...

Margaret: Well, they're 22 of them so you've got a way to go! LOL I just saw on FF that Andrea Camilleri is 91. Now *that's* elderly.Cathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06371069000185280668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3958492963483272678.post-87677358487657562552017-07-17T06:46:31.544+01:002017-07-17T06:46:31.544+01:00Excursion to Tindari is the only book by Andrea Ca... Excursion to Tindari is the only book by Andrea Camilleri that I've read. I liked Montalbano and the descriptions of food! Aunti Poldi is a new-to-me book that does sound different - I like your definition of 'elderly'!BooksPleasehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08721650104596705715noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3958492963483272678.post-84433979551273423192017-07-16T14:00:24.624+01:002017-07-16T14:00:24.624+01:00Aunt Poldi sounds intriguing, Cath. I do have one on the shelf and should really get to it soon. Nice reviews. I'm hitting 60 in 6 months. A little scary, but like you I don't think of it as elderly yet!
