I can't see me ever making it to the actual country.

Pat: I liked the movie a bit better. Wasn't Patrick Stewart in it or is my memory completely deceiving me...Cathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06371069000185280668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3958492963483272678.post-8850256131258835282013-02-11T21:19:37.108+00:002013-02-11T21:19:37.108+00:00oh wow Cath...me too with the Dune books! My brother couldn't get enough of them and I couldn't get into reading them..but unlike Margaret I loved the movie and the later version on television also.DesLilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02582481597658080464noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3958492963483272678.post-65845926165992710782013-02-11T19:33:34.895+00:002013-02-11T19:33:34.895+00:00This sounds absolutely fascinating. I've always dreamed of visiting Egypt but the situation is just too unstable at the moment - I will have to make do with travel books for now!Sam (Tiny Library)https://www.blogger.com/profile/16375434438465319913noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3958492963483272678.post-82508634697873064402013-02-11T16:07:13.139+00:002013-02-11T16:07:13.139+00:00Margaret: It suddenly became too much of a committ...Margaret: It suddenly became too much of a committment to write about everything. Also when you're reading book 14 of a series it becomes a bit silly to write about every book in the series. My husband loved the Dune books and has read every one. Why they didn't appeal to me is a mystery.

It's rather silly but I almost feel guilty for not wanting to go to Egypt now, after reading about how much the population depends on tourism. Heaven knows what they're doing now. It's so sad.Cathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06371069000185280668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3958492963483272678.post-55509048194235993412013-02-11T15:55:00.219+00:002013-02-11T15:55:00.219+00:00I've decided not to review all the books I rea...I've decided not to review all the books I read too, mainly because sometimes I just can't think what to write or I run out of time and am busy reading another book. I did like Frank Herbert's Dune books - as did my husband. But I didn't like the film!

Down the Nile does sound very good! I'd like to see the pyramids, otherwise Egypt doesn't appeal. But when I watched Karl Pilkington on An Idiot Abroad at the pyramids I went off that too!
Margaret @ BooksPleasehttp://www.booksplease.orgnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3958492963483272678.post-2933661078259329562013-02-11T15:54:56.414+00:002013-02-11T15:54:56.414+00:00Pat: I don't think I've ever really wanted...Pat: I don't think I've ever really wanted to go to Egypt. I think it might have been a much nicer thing to do in Victorian times, not so commercial. Reading biographies can't hurt (apart from your wrists) and I feel that way about travel writing. It's all knowledge and interesting stuff.Cathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06371069000185280668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3958492963483272678.post-13911267748816213202013-02-11T11:53:58.098+00:002013-02-11T11:53:58.098+00:00ok, you convinced me.. i won't visit Egypt. (does the fact I never wanted to mean anything? lol)
we have been reading total opposites.. you with enslaved woman and me with Eleanor Roosevelt fighting for all sorts of rights for women and the poor! I think this is my year of biographies ..can't hurt, except for my wrists because the books are so dang big!DesLilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02582481597658080464noreply@blogger.com
