ReplyDeletei love the title of My Spoons came for Woolworth... basically that could describe my growning up. Woolworth was a place with cheap merchandise..which was all we could afford when I was young..so I loved going to Woolworths!! lol

I too can remember spending much time in 'Woolies' as a child. It was something of an institution in those days, somewhere where you could guarantee to be able to buy almost anything, including their great value 'pic'n'mix' sweets!!!
It is a real shame that they have disappeared from our high street forever.

I agree, the loss of Woolies from our high streets is a sad thing. I too used to enjoy their pick and mix selection... and choosing Christmas cards... and their loose biscuits that my gran always used to buy.
