Merry Christmas!

I haven't posted all week, partly because I've been so busy with Christmas preparations, but also it's been a difficult week here. My brother was admitted to hospital with complications due to a faulty heart valve. It was rather unexpected so chaos kind of ensued. Sadly for him it looks like he'll be in hospital for Christmas but hopefully he'll be fine and 2008 will be a better year, healthwise, for him. I just wanted to wish all the lovely people who drop by my blog a truly wonderful Christmas and I hope your holidays are all that you would wish for.

I'm sorry to hear about your brother, and hope that he recovers quickly. It's no fun to spend Christmas in the hospital! To you and all your family, a very Merry Christmas!

Kay: Thanks for your kind thoughts. I put an update in my post for tonight but basically my brother needs surgery to replace a heart valve. We hoped it would not come to that but it has and I'm sure he'll be better once it's done.

Eloise: Thank you! And Merry Christmas to you too.

Deslily: I'm pretty sure my brother will be very much better once he's had this operation. It's just tough that it had to happen at Christmas.

Oh yes, I will definitely think of you while I munch my Brussel sprouts. LOL!

Robin: You're right, it's no fun at all to have to spend Christmas in hospital. But he's quite sick so we have to comfort ourselves that he's in the best place.

Merry Christmas to you and yours too. :-)

I can relate. I was in the hospital for double valve replacement in 2005 due to a leaky heart valve.

I'm all better now though.

Let me know if you need any help with your brother's recovery.

It can be a bit of a doozy.

Cheers,

Adam

Thanks, Adam, that's a kind offer. Unfortunately my brother is still waiting for his operation as he got some kind of infection in hospital. It set him back a week or so but he is now much better. We're now back to waiting for him to be transferred to the regional hospital in Plymouth but no idea when that will happen. Soon, I hope as he's going crazy in hospital. How long does recovery take on average?
