My series - post 2

This post is really for my own records and is an update of the one I did on the 28th. November 2008. Basically it's because I've updated it since then but also to save me from having to go back that far to update. This is a serious thing for me because this list really does help me to keep track of the series that I'm reading. What it also proves is how slack I am at finishing them! *And* what an easy target I am for shiny new ones. The other thing that's starting to be apparent is that I'm doing better with crime series than I am my other love... fantasy. Oh well. ' Things change' as they say.

gads! lol.. i don't think I want Peter coming over the pond to kill me if I mention any MORE series than you have going now LOL LOL.. (but the Bartimaeus series by Jonathan Stroud was really good .. just tell Peter I moved and don't tell him where! lol)

LOL!!! Oh Pat... killing myself laughing here. heheh. But yeah... that's one series I need to add. (And the Angie Sage books.) I read the first book and came to a halt. Need to reread it. Funnily enough there was an article about Jonathan Stroud and the Bartimaeus books in the paper at the weekend...

Off to give Peter your address...

Of the Robin Hobb I really enjoyed the Tawny Man and Liveship books, but have found the Soldier Son books much more lengthy & less enjoyable - so much so that when I saw the last one at the library I passed it by.

Kingdom of Thorns and Bone by Greg Keyes is wonderful & I love, adore, am crazy about Michelle Sagara West's Sun Sword series and the new House Wars series that follows it.

Ack! Ack! ...hmmm, does Peter succumb to flattery? lol

btw: (if he's going to kill me might as well go all the way)
A new Mary Russell comes out in April:
God of the Hive: A novel of suspense featuring Mary Russell and Sherlock Holmes by Laurie R. King

wish we lived closer I'd loan you all the Angie Sage Septimus Heap books! AND the Bartimaeus books! (sorry Peter!! honest!!)

Caitlin: I'll bear in mind what you say about the Soldier Son books and won't rush to read them... they weren't a priority for me anyway.

And thanks for the recs! I've made a note and will check those out later.

Pat: *ALL* men succumb to flattery. LOL!

I need to get back to Mary Russell... haven't read one in a while. The last one was The Moor.

Yeah, and I could lend you stacks of books too... how come none of my best friends actually live anywhere near me!

I hope you'll like the Jennifer Donnelly when you get to it. Haven't come across anyone who didn't yet but you never know.

I have a post like this started, but I haven't made a lot of progress with it yet. I really need to get around to finishing it!

What's that Flewelling series? I'm not sure if it goes by another name over there....I have the Pellinor series to read too, plus catch up in the Briggs series....lovely bunch of series there!! much like my own list.....and I still have to read the Liveship series, though I adored the Tawny man series - and I'm waiting to start Martin Edwards because of you! lol so I think we all give as good as we get.....ie we really influence one another!! lol too bad we didn't live at least in the same country, you, me, and Pat, we could take turns buying books for all of us to read!!! lol Are you planning on reading books in all these series this year?

Kailana: a series post is not only a lot of fun to do (and maybe a bit horrifying...) but it's also *really* useful. I use mine a lot to keep track of where I am.

Susan: Here's the URL for Lynn Flewelling's FantasticFiction page so you can check out the Tamir Triad series.

It's pretty popular among bloggers I think. So far I've just read three of her Nightrunner series and love those to bits!

I just have one of Briggs's Mercy Thompson books left to read but there's a new out March/April! Wooohooo! *And* another of her series I want to read - 'Alpha and Omega'. Need to add that to this list I think...

Oh yes, there's amassive amount of egging each other on in the blogisphere. LOL. It adds to the fun even though we all play the blame game. Yes, I often think we need to live in the same country. How much money we would save, lending books instead of buying them. You need to move back to England, Susan! (And bring Pat with you...)

I don't think I'll manage to read all of these series this year, but I'm certain I'll continue with them. I'm just an habitual series reader I think, and when these are finished I'm sure I'll still have other new ones on the go.
