I love that comic, Cath. That's me when I read at night (and sometimes during the day). Especially in the last few months when my sleep has been good.
The meme is fun too. I saw a different one and was looking for book titles to complete it, but I kept running into trouble because so many of the titles I read have "Murder" in the title. but I will keep trying. It would be fun to do one.

Like Tracy said, I'm not sure that my book titles read this year are varied enough to make many sensible answers, but I'm off to check out the meme against my list of books and see what I can do!

I have to say that I did run into a bit of trouble too. I thought with 90 books I would find it easy but, as you said, all the murder books either have 'Murder' or 'Death' in the title, or are one or two word titles which don't seem to work somehow.

I loved the Charlie Brown cartoon at the end...I think we all feel a bit like that at the moment.

Cath, I probably would have used your questions if I had seen them first! I enjoyed doing this although it was trickier than I thought. Also, I couldn't decide if I should use mini-reviews (I needed one, so decided yes!).
Wondered if you have read Snapped in Cornwall by Jamie Bolitho. I wanted something with a sense of place but was disappointed. I felt it could have been set anywhere and the characters annoyed me.
This looks like fun, love your answers. I might include this in the round-up I'm going to make with the books I read this year. :)
Rosemary: It really is much harder than it appears, I really struggled with two or three even though I've read more books than usual this year and had more titles to choose from.
Constance: It is trickier than you imagine. I shall do the one you did after Christmas.
I've had Janie Bolitho's books recommended to me because I think they're set in the area I come from, but for some reason I've never got around to trying them. I think I've always suspected I might be disappointed in them.
Anca: I would love to see your answers if you do decide to do this.
Fun meme! The Charlie Brown cartoon makes me laugh. I love to nap almost as I love to read - it's hard to balance the two sometimes :)
Cath - just coming back in to say I've read several of those Janie Bolitho books. I think you probably would be disappointed, it's true they have very little sense of place. I find myself unable to resist picking another one up once in a while (a bit like the GM Malliet ones, and I actually think they are better than those.) If I were you I probably wouldn't bother, and I certainly wouldn't buy one - maybe see if your library has any?
I did, however, enjoy Catherine Alliott's A Cornish Summer. It's quite light and I didn't have very high hopes, but I felt she wrote well and the location felt real to me (although it's almost all about extremely rich people living in a beautiful clifftop mansion!) Maybe you've already read it?

Rosemary: That's rather a shame that the Janie Bolitho books lack a sense of place. I do actually own several that an elderly cousin passed on. If I'm short of something to read next year - ho ho - I might try one but I'll bear in mind what you and Constance both said.
No, I haven't read A Cornish Summer, I'll see if the library has it next time I'm in there. Funny how some of this light reads very often hit the spot quite nicely.
