I say tomatoes, you say...

"Is this big enough?" said my husband when I asked if we had any tomatoes in the greenhouse for lunch.

It weighed in at 15ozs and just one slice covered a bread roll. And, just for the record, it was delicious.

Yum! I had a similarly sized but orange tomato for lunch today that a friend brought me. Sliced and topped with fresh mozzarella, s/p, basil and a drizzle of olive oil.

Jamie Oliver's recipes sound yummy - I like the sound of the one with the sausages. Do you know which book that show is based on? I enjoy reading his books but we seem to be a year behind in getting his latest one.

I must admit I never used to care for very big tomatoes but I've become a convert. They're so juicy and tasty!

Yes, Jamie's new book is called 'Jamie at Home: Cook Your Way to the Good Life'. (I suspect 'The Good Life' refers to a British Comedy series of the 1970s where a couple were self-sufficient.) The book can be found on Amazon UK and here is the URL:

Impressive, Cath. I haven't had the best of luck in growing tomatoes. Ours are pretty tasty, especially the Brandywine, but the vines don't yield much at all. Any secret tips?

To tell the truth, Kelly, I prefer small tasty tomatoes to the larger, less tasty ones. But that one was still very nice. No, we don't have any secret tips I'm afraid, my husband doesn't even feed them as some people do. Just regular watering and 'luck' I feel.
