Easter

I have family staying at the moment so online time is limited. But I just wanted to pop in here and wish everyone a Happy Easter. Hope your weekend is exactly what you want it to be. I'm having fun with the grandkids, playing loads of Scrabble, and eating too many hot-cross buns!

And so our mothers and grandmothers have, more often than not anonymously, handed on the creative spark, the seed of the flower they themselves never hoped to see - or like a sealed letter they could not plainly read.

Happy Easter Cath :0)

Thanks, everyone!

Kay, for some reason I always associate primroses with Easter, even though Daffs are probably more appropriate to the UK. I think it might be because as a child I used to pick wild primroses in the fields at Easter.

Love that Walker quote. Wish I could get my girls to play Scrabble with me again. Now they are 16 it is all beneath them!!

Margaret: Thank you. My husband gave me Marks and Sparks walnut whips, so I'm a happy bunny.

Pat: Tragedy! No winning lottery ticket! Devastated.

Sam: Thank you. I hope you're enjoying your Easter too.

Nicola: Me too with the quote. Don't despair, they will grow back into Scrabble in a few years. Mine are in their 30s now and love it more than me.

Hi Cath,

Hope that you had a great time with your family.

'Scrabble' is one of the games which has endured through the years and is still just as popular today ... at least with a certain generation!!

The young people always seem to crave games which are played at a much faster pace, are much noisier and don't demand any great level of concentration ... another sign of the times I guess!!

Make the most of your grandchildren, while they are still receptive to it.

Happy Easter to you too, Cath! It sounds like your weekend was busy with family too, as mine was. I thought having yesterday off work was a bonus, too, and I took the day to read another book!! I love having time to read like that.

Yvonne: Yes thanks we had a lovely time with the family. Very busy... the family went home on Monday and then yesterday friends visited. Fun, but I'm behind with all my usual blog reading. Never mind, I'll soon catch up as I have several quiet days now.

Yes, kids grow up quickly but hopefully they still appreciate grandmas and grandpas. I know I always did. The question for us at the moment is how much longer our 11 year old grandaughter will want to play kid's games with her 5 year old cousin. She's 12 in June and I have my doubts it'll last much longer. So sad.

Susan: Yes, very busy, but also really nice. We played heaps of Scrabble and I don't normally get to do that as my husband's not keen on the game.

Wonderful to have an extra day off to read. My idea of bliss. :-)

I'm a bit behind myself these days, Cath, with a trip to see family and a return to much busy-ness. With family around, I'm sure your Easter was joyful and enjoyed your book review above.

Penny: It was really nice, thank you. But I am also now enjoying the peace and quiet very much!
