My aim was to climb Mont Blanc and in the process read 24 books. This I finally achieved on the 22nd. December. I got off to a roaring start and was usually 3 or 4 books ahead of where I should have been for most of the year, but I tailed off in the autumn. Never mind, I made it and that's the main thing.

Well done, Cath - you made it! I like your Words to the Wise, although the thought of
preparing for the Fellowship of Ghosts is rather alarming.
I like January because at the moment all my books qualify for Mt TBR - because I didn't get any books for Christmas and I haven't given in to the urge to get more books - yet!
Congrats on completing your challenge! I was able to meet my challenge in Mount TBR and read several extras. :)
I'll have to check out your thoughts on some of these books now...

Yes, I like January for the same reason and it makes me feel excited about reading again. Oddly enough neither did I get books for Christmas and I actually didn't mind.

You really have fun with this challenge! I do read from my shelves, but most of my reading has been on the kindle and I end up buying books there. I don't go to the library because honestly I have a 'library' myself. I'm going to try and make afternoon time for reading print books this year, but we'll see how that works out.
Nan, I buy a few Kindle books too, especially if they're inexpensive. I like the fact that they take up no room on the bookshelves. The trouble is I do tend to forget what's on my Kindle & Nook. I probably read more print books but that may change as I bought myself a new paper-white Kindle in November. Love it.
