Christmas wishes

A Merry Christmas to everyone who reads my blog and especially to those who also take the time and effort to comment. It's so much appreciated and I cherish the friends I've made and the conversations we have about our love of books and life in general. Have a good Christmas and let's hope for a much better year next year.

This lovely snowy painting is by Danish painter, Peder Mork Monsted. It's called Forest in Winter and was painted in 1915. I love it to bits.

Merry Christmas to you and yours, Cath. It's certainly one that none of us will ever forget. It will be nice to turn the page on 2020 and move on to the new year. Stay safe.

I love that painting Cath! And today we in the north of Scotland have even had a bit of snow.

I wish you and your family a happy Christmas, and I thank you for your always interesting blog, and for your kindness in taking time to comment on mine. I've so much enjoyed all the book talk this year; the readers and bloggers I've met are such interesting and generous people.

Here's to many more chats.

Lovely painting, Cath. Merry Christmas to you and your family. At this time of year, I always look forward to starting a new reading year. And having Glen home from work, which is a bit different this year since he was working at home anyway. But he should be fully retired in a month or so. It will be interesting to look back this time next year and see what 2021 held for us.

Here, here, for a better, more open life in 2021, eventually!
I've been out of touch, I know, but I think of you frequently. December is usually a very low month for me, but watch out in January! I think I'll be back!
Best wishes to you and Peter for a very merry Christmas!
I have enjoyed reading The Christmas Chronicles by Nigel Slater, which I ordered via your recommendation. I can't wait til next year, when I can actually get a hold of some of the ingredients he includes in many recipes. Gourmet food supplies have been very tough to get this Christmas. But I have loved his writing and am making notes so I can move forward in Fall 2021.

Mary: Thank you! It's my pleasure and thank you for stopping by to comment.

Sam: Thank you. I wish I could be sure that 2021 will be better. I think it will be but not for a few months. At least there is now a vaccine.

Lark: I love the painting too, love snowy scenes. My pleasure and thanks for always stopping by to comment here as well. :-)

Zetor: Thank you!

Rosemary: Yes, I heard that some parts of the country have had snow and it has been officially declared 'a white Christmas'. Sadly, not down here.

I've really enjoyed meeting you this year and chatting about the books we've read. Looking forward to continuing the book chat in 2021.

Tracy: I always look forward to starting a new year of reading too. Daft as it sounds it's like turning over a new leaf and I love making plans and creating a 2021 section of bookshelf that I want to read from, although not exclusively. Yes, it will be interesting to look back from this time next year and see what happened. I think it will be an interesting year...

Diane: Thank you! And yes to a better time of it next year.

Judith: Pleased to hear you'll be back posting in 2021. To tell the truth I've been quieter for a few months too so am also hoping to be back properly as well.

Thank you for your Christmas wishes, we had a quiet but very pleasant couple of days.

Nigel Slater's Christmas Chronicles book has been excellent hasn't it? I've loved reading about his travels in Germany in it. His TV shows are some of my favourite cooking programmes on TV. If you're interested I think they're on YouTube.

Constance: Books and bookmarks in 2021 sounds wonderful to me!

Very nice to have 'met' you this year. All down to Judith and Covid I think.

Hi Cath,

Like yourself, I have made some amazing friends over the years, where we can not only chat about reading and all things bookish, but generally put the world to rights and get niggles off our chests without being judged - those kind of friendships mean a lot!

It will have been one of the strangest Christmas's ever for most of us, so let's just hope that 2021 is a little kinder to us all and that our virtual chats can help us all get through it!

I always make notes as I am reading a book, so the New Year is time for a fresh new notebook and pen and whole new load of index cards and organisation for my Blog Tour Review piles. It doesn't make the problem any less, but it makes it look neater, which makes me feel better!

Thank you for being one of those people I can rely on if I get into real crisis mode, and here's to some great reading starting in January :)

Yvonne: Our book blogging friends do indeed mean a lot, and I feel like I now know some of you quite well now.

I hope you had a nice Christmas? We had one of our daughters for Christmas Day after they had isolated for about 10 days. We were all very careful and it was a nice day. Now it's just P and I again and by the sound of it for the foreseeable future as we went into tier 3 today.

Yes, I start a new 2021 notebook in a day or so, I love doing that. Found a lovely one with a map of the world on the front in Smiths.

It's my pleasure, Yvonne, and thank you too. I love that we chat on Twitter and Goodreads as well. Happy New year to you.
