I have 2 more challenges I want to join (making far too many for this year but what the heck... in for a penny etc.) and the first of them is Wanderlust Bingo 2023/24, which is being hosted by Fiction Fan's Book Reviews.
As is obvious, this is another Bingo challenge, I'm a real sucker for them it seems!
The place to go for more information is HERE on Fiction Fan's blog.
This is a two year challenge which suits me quite nicely as it's less pressure with all the other challenges I'm doing, but it's also been stressed that we should not be too bothered about deadlines. Excellent!
I'm an avid armchair traveller and am really looking forward to taking part in this challenge.

I'm glad to hear you're joining this challenge, Cath. I think it's a terrific way to stretch out a bit, so to speak, and explore work that takes place all over the world. I'm looking forward to reading about the choices you make and what you think of what you read.
Another Challenge!! You really are a glutton for punishment, although spreading this one over two years doesn't seem quite so bad :)
Some of the categories are going to be relatively easy, however a few of the more obscure destinations are going to be a little tricky and may call for you to turn to some of your non-fiction travel adventures.
I can't help but wonder why the UK suddenly doesn't include Scotland, which has a spot of its own. Do you think someone knows something we don't? :)
Margot: I too think this is a terrific method of spreading your reading wings. To be honest I like to do that anyway so this shouldn't be a really hard challenge for me but more in the way of 'fun' and exploration.
Yvonne: Yes, 'glutton for punishment' is about right. LOL! On the other hand a lot of books will double up or even triple up. And all of the books will qualify for the Mount TBR challenge so none of this is as awful as it sounds.
Yes, my travel writing bent should surely come in handy with this one!
I think the answer is that the person hosting the challenge is Scottish so wanted a category of its own for Scotland.
I am glad I saw this because I had missed FictionFan's post on the new version. I will probably join in, although I am still thinking about it. I like that it is a two year challenge, and I could easily see it taking three years for me.
I know you will have fun doing this will all the travel books you read.
Tracy: And the nice thing is if you take three years it seems it is absolutely ok!
By the way, I decided in the end not to do the sci-fi bingo challenge. Partly because I'm doing so many others but also I realised in the end that I really don't have enough suitable books. What I plan to do is increase my sci-fi reading this year but do it on my own by reading the books I have... which wouldn't necessarily fit into that bingo card.
I like that it's a two-year challenge...and that it's more relaxed. And I do love traveling by book to faraway places, especially when I don't have the funds to really go somewhere. And it's bingo! I do love reading bingo. Might have to keep this one in mind. :D Happy reading!
Delighted you're joining in! Haha, and yes, you're quite right - Scotland only has a box of its own because I'm Scottish - no hidden agenda, I promise. If you'd rather change that box to a Free Square, feel free! I'm looking forward to seeing what books you find to fill the various boxes. Hope you enjoy your travels! Maybe our paths will cross in some far-flung corner of the globe...
Cath, I looked into other science fiction challenges and could not find any. So, like you, I plan to challenge myself to read more science fiction books. I have a good number on hand, so I hope I can stick mainly to my TBR shelves.
Lark: Yes, 2 years is very doable! You can relax and not start to panic until November 2024. LOL! But I'm such a huge armchair traveller that this one suits me down to the ground.
Fiction Fan: No, I'll be doing Scotland. I'm one quarter Scots so that's fine. I read a nice handful of books set there last year by authors such as Molly Clavering, Dorothy L. Sayers and Rosamunde Pilcher and loved them. This year I have The Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley among others so a Scottish category is no problem at all.
Tracy: Yes, science-fiction rarely seems to come up in challenges. There're some good Youtube channels for it but no one seems to think to create challenges. So yes, I shall do it myself and keep an eye out for any posts you do. I have some excellent authors to try and some classic stuff on my Kindle.
