Taking a blogging break
I'm taking a few weeks break from my blog. My husband was admitted to hospital on Saturday with suspected pneumonia. They're still not quite sure as they've discovered fluid in the cavities around his lungs which could be the usual sort of fluid, whatever that is, or blood from a burst blood vessel, which could have happened after over exerting himself in the garden. Unfortunately they can't do the procedure to check for 5 days, until they're sure he hasn't got Covid-19. He's tested negative but they have to be completely sure. As you can imagine this is all very worrying and blogging is not a priority at the moment, but I will be back, hopefully in 2 or 3 weeks when he's better and back home. I will be reading your bookish posts though, in quiet moments, which will be a nice way to cheer myself up. Stay safe!

How stressful. I hope that he recovers fully and quickly. I will keep you both in my thoughts.
Oh no, so sorry you both are dealing with this. Hope he recovers quickly.
Cath, I'll be keeping both of you in my prayers. Do hope this issue can be identified and solved as quickly as may be. Take care and big hugs going across the way to you!
Hoping all will be well. Take care of yourself, too.
That is worrying! I'm so sorry. Good luck getting through this. I'll be keeping you and your husband in my prayers!!!
So sorry to hear this, Cath. I hope you get the answers you need soon because the waiting must be tremendously stressful.
We will all miss your blog posts, but you most definitely need to do all you can do for yourself and your husband right now. We'll look forward to your return.
You were so supporting to me during my own recent time of family stress that it breaks my heart to know that you are going through this right now. Take care of yourself, too...please.
I am so very very sorry to heard this. Take care of yourself! Wishing the best for your husband to have healthy and a speedy recovery.
Hope he recovers soon. Take care.
Five days of waiting must be extremely stressful. My thoughts are with you, and I hope we hear soon that some progress has been made. Do take care of yourself.
Thanks everyone for your good wishes, they really are much appreciated. We now know that the first procedure will be on Monday, so that's good news.
Sam: Thank you. You were and still are going through a rough time with your dad and my thoughts are still with you and him. Yes, I'm trying to take of myself as it wouldn't be any good for me to fall ill too.
Oh dear, I am so sorry to hear this. Sending good thoughts your way. It is hard to imagine he could have Covid-19 as you have been so careful but I know it is very worrying just the same.
At least I know I don't need to tell you to be sure to bring plenty of books with you to the hospital and to all medical appointments. I bet you are like me, looking around at these people staring into space, and thinking maybe they could reduce their stress if they could escape with a book for a few minutes.

Hi Cath,
Wishing you and your husband the very best, day by day and everyday.
I find knitting something really, really SIMPLE at a bedside to be relaxing--I say simple, so I can keep up a conversation or deal with nursely distractions, as need be. There's something soothing about knitting something simple. Knitting cotton washcloths are great distractions, but I TOTALLY realize you may not be able to do this yet.
Thinking of you whenever I turn to the computer and the blog.
Cath - I’ve been immersed in something and only just read this - so very sorry to hear about your husband’s illness and I do hope he is better and home again very soon.
If you need any books just drop me a DM, I’d be more than happy to post something(s).
Looking forward to reading all your brilliant posts again as soon as you feel able to return, and in the meantime very best wishes to you and your husband.
Rosemary
Cath, I've only just read this and I am so sorry to hear that your husband is in hospital. Best wishes for Monday and I hope he is able to come home soon.
I'm under the impression that hospital visitors aren't allowed even for non Covid admissions. I do hope that this is not so and you can visit him.
Thinking of you both.X

Oh, Cath. I so hope all is well. I will be thinking of you.
Just read this and am sending all our love and best wishes to you and your family xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I'm sorry I hadn't seen this earlier. I hope and pray the first procedure went well and that recovery is happening rapidly. Please let us know if there is anything we can do.
