Blogging break

I've decided to take a blogging break for a couple of weeks while my husband's cellulitis heals. He has a nasty open wound on his leg now, it's worrying but he's on a second lot of antibiotics so hopefully those will do the trick. It doesn't help that diabetics don't heal as quickly as the rest of us of course and I can worry for England which also doesn't help. I will still probably be around commenting on blog posts but am just not in the mood at the moment to do book reviews. Take care and enjoy the rest of August!

I'm sorry to hear about this. How did he get it? He's had just too much these past few years. I hope this is over soon. Thinking of you.

I hate to hear that your husband is having serious health issues at the moment, Cath. Sounds like the last thing you need to be worrying about is book reviews. Take care of him - and yourself - and come back when things lighten up. In the meantime, we'll miss you.

I'm sorry to hear your husband is unwell. That sounds rather painful! Take care- for both of you. (I realize I'm just repeating what Sam said, but we have the same sentiment)

Here's hoping your husband gets feeling better and heals up quickly! And be sure to take care of yourself while you're taking care of him. Sending love and prayers your way. :D

Very sorry to hear that your husband's cellulitis is worsening. I would be worried too, although of course that doesn't help. I have to put a lot of effort into reviewing books, and I can understand why you would put that on hold for now. I hope that he will have a speedy recovery.

Thanks everyone for your concern, kind comments, thoughts, good vibes and prayers. It's so much appreciated!

He's better in himself now, blood sugar levels down to normal etc., appetite back. But the wound on his leg is still nasty and not in much of a hurry to heal, which is concerning.

Nan: We don't know how he got this horrible infection. He has no open wound or obvious bite from an insect. Injecting diabetics are prone to it apparently but that doesn't explain how he got it really. It's a mystery and much as I love a good bookish mystery, I hate them when it comes to Peter's health.

Hi Cath, so glad to have found your book blog and I am sorry to hear about your husband's infection but it sounds like he is feeling better a bit and I will say a prayer for his speedy recovery. They have so many ways to treat things now and antibiotics work wonderfully.

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's problems. I'm a Type 1 diabetic, so I know all about how long wounds take to heal. Not fun at all. You both will be in my prayers :)

Thanks, Kathy! He's much improved now so I'm crossing my fingers that the worst is now behind us.

Susan: It's so discouraging how long wounds take to heal when you're diabetic. This has been going on for a over month now and we're only just getting to the end - hopefully!

Thank you for your prayers.
