Cobwebs in October

I love this quote from Anne of Green Gables:

And to go with this celebration of the month of October here are a few pics of cobwebs I took in the garden this morning when the dense fog had cleared a bit. As always, click for a bigger view.

Some book reviews to come soon!

Hi Cath,

Ours was more of a heavy mist than a dense fog this morning and I'm afraid I was up and out before it was light, so didn't get the chance to see any of the spider webs which would no doubt have abounded in our garden.

I often marvel at how resilient and determined a spider will be, no matter how many times its web is disrupted or broken, so from that point of view your final picture has to be the most industrious!

Marks for the most beautiful web however have to go to the first shot, with the sun shining through.

Made the most of today's sunshine, as the rest of the week looks pretty changeable here in Somerset!

Thanks for sharing and Happy October :)

That first picture could be sold! You have millions more spiders than we do!

Wow, those little guys have been busy. The finished product is beautiful and hard to believe when you see it, but it still spooks me to accidentally walk into a spider web in the dark - or in a case like this one, the fog. My heartbeat rate instantly doubles. :-)

Hi Yvonne: I was so pleased with that first shot. Not often I get it spot-on, and the camera was playing up too. Think I am sadly going to have to replace it.

Yes, it's been a very changeable week. We've been grandson sitting for most of it, so that's been really nice.

Thank you, I must admit I do love it when autumn properly arrives in mid to late October. Have a nice weekend!

Nan: Gosh, thank you! It's been a very spidery year. We've had a lot of big ones indoors, much more than usual. And I am Not Keen.

Sam: Some of them are not so little, we've had some huge ones indoors this year. Perhaps we're heading for a cold winter.
